Fountain of Baby

It happened.

DC slept through the night last night.  HC and I got up and were almost done getting ready for work when she woke up.  So he started warming her bottle while I changed her diaper and got her dressed for the day.  He kissed us goodbye and left for work, while I settled in with the bottle to give her breakfast.  She sucked down that bottle, even burping good part-way through.  It was a normal, pleasant morning.

When she finished the bottle, I set it on the side table and said “Let’s do some burping….”

And that’s when it happened…

Fountain of Baby.

No no no no!!!

I tried to wipe it up, but I could feel the warm ick spreading on my legs!

No no no no!!!

She looked at me quite calmly, in her sopping wet bib and onesie.  I don’t even want to tell you where I was feeling formula soaking through.

I broke down and hobbled over to the phone.  “MOM….I need help….”

Sigh.  Of course I had this plan to save money and only buy two pairs of work slacks to tide me over until I loose this weight.  My other pair was wet, hanging on the drying rack.  So I had to break down and toss those in the dryer.  After GrandmaCat got here, she cleaned up the chair and floor while I cleaned up DC and myself.

And we STILL managed to get out the door only a few minutes late, and get me to work…

I’ve been laughing about this all day.  Because really, what else can you do?  Well, except stop at Kohl’s on the way home from work and pick up another pair of slacks, “just in case”.
