As I was putting away DC’s laundry this evening, I found myself looking through her clothes. She’s still wee tiny, it seems. Really I guess not. She’s 3 months old now, and she’s wearing 3 month size clothing. So that rather sounds like it’s on schedule.
But here’s the thing. There’s so many clothes in size 3month that she hasn’t worn yet. Some of them don’t bother me. I’m sure this is a common thing. Mom receives clothing for baby at the baby shower or as gifts in the first few weeks after baby comes home. It’s inevitable that A) there will be too many clothes for baby to wear each outfit, and B) that there will be at least one article of clothing that Mom hates and refuses to put baby in. That’s especially true if your an opinionated, picky, pain in the rear such as myself.
So yes, I do have a small pile of clothing that does fit her, but I just don’t like them. It’s ok. I’m fine with it.
What has me, though, is the collection of really cute things that do FIT her, but don’t fit the WEATHER. For example, there is the cutest little sundress I bought her. It’s white with red edging, and covered in red cherries. It even has little matching panties. Or, there’s the light weight lavender dress that I bought her, that has little dark purple embroidered flowers on the bodice. Both are so freakin’ adorable.
Sigh.
And the forecasted high temperatures this week, are in the mid to upper 50s. (That would be Fahrenheit.) Fall just came on too fast.
I suppose it doesn’t help that I kinda feel dresses should be saved for special occasions. Like, holidays, or family parties, or something like that. We just haven’t had many of those. There’s one this weekend, but it’s going to be at a location that I know will be chilly. Well how can I put her in a dress then?
Sigh. So many cute clothes, and she won’t get to wear them because it’s gotten too cold. I guess this is what happens when you buy clothes in anticipation of the impending baby. Guess I’ll just pack them away. Oh well.
